Iris Mathye is the Director: Sanitation Operational and Capacity Support at the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS).

Ms. Mathye holds a BA Honours Degree in Development Studies and has more than 24 years’ experience in the water and sanitation environment.

Her current role involves amongst others supporting the sector on sanitation services, development of strategies and guidelines, faecal sludge management, capacity building and advocacy.
